The teenage midfielder promises revenge for his nation's World Cup defeat to the Dutch in South Africa, while Danish legend Peter Schmeichel admitted it is a tough testDenmark star Christian Eriksen has voiced his delight at the prospect of facing many of his Ajax teammates at Euro 2012 next summer.
The Danish were drawn against the Netherlands, Germany and Portugal, meaning Eriksen could be going head-to-head with teammates such as Gregory van der Wiel, Vurnon Anita and Siem de Jong.
"Revenge against Holland is coming. Go Denmark!" the 19-year-old announced on his Twitter page, referring to his side's 2-0 loss to the Dutch in the 2010 World Cup.
He later tweeted at Ajax and Netherlands fullback Gregory van der Wiel, saying: "You don't have a chance against Portugal!"
Peter Schmeichel, who won Euro 1992 with Denmark, was less bullish about his nation's chances of progression.
"Oh my god what a tough draw. Holland, Portugal AND Germany," the 48-year-old announced via Twitter.
The Netherlands and Denmark will play each other in Kharkiv on June 9, before going on to face Portugal and Germany in the remaining Group B fixtures.
