Hamburg defender Marcell Jansen was forced to withdraw from the team due to medical reasons, while Dortmund youngster Kevin Grosskreutz has been ruled out with a bout of flu. Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng didn't travel to Kazakhstan either due to illness.
Furthermore, experienced midfielder Michael Ballack is still unavailable due to his shin injury, while Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger will miss the clash with Turkey because of a foot injury. Striker Stefan Kiessling is unavailable due to injury as well.
Playmaker Mesut Oezil picked up an ankle injury in his side's 3-0 win against Turkey on Friday, but is expected to make it in time for the match in Kazakhstan.
