Young striker suffered a shoulder injury against Udinese on Sunday evening and has been chalked out of all footballing action in the summer
AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato will miss Brazil’s Copa America campaign in the summer after dislocated his left shoulder on Sunday evening.
The 21-year-old suffered the injury during Milan’s goalless away draw with Udinese in Serie A. Pato fell awkwardly on his left shoulder on 72 minutes and was stretchered off the pitch.
The Brazil international was quickly taken to a hospital in Udine and underwent an X-ray scan. Although no fractures have been reported, it has been confirmed that Pato has dislocated his shoulder with Milan’s medical team declaring that he will not feature in the Copa America.
It has also been reported that Pato was given general anesthetic while doctors put his shoulder back in place. He will now have to wear a support brace for up to four weeks.
The Copa America will start on July 1 in Argentina and is the most prestigious international football competition in South America.
