Pique: Blame Barcelona players but not just Cesc Fabregas

The center half finds it grossly unfair that the midfielder has been made the scapegoat for the Blaugrana's poor form in recent weeks.
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has told the club's supporters to take their frustrations out on the entire squad - not just Cesc Fabregas.

Fabregas has more assists in La Liga this season (12) that any other Blaugrana player, while he has also contributed eight goals to the Catalan cause.

However, the versatile midfielder was jeered by some sections of the Camp Nou crowd during last weekend's Liga win over Athletic Bilbao, much to dismay of Pique, who feels his teammate is being made a scapegoat for the team's failings in recent weeks.

"It isn't good to have fans whistling you - particularly at home," the center back told reporters on Tuesday. "I think it is a mistake to focus on just one player. Blame it on the players, okay, but not just Cesc.

"The season has not been good, and I think we are all part of a group that haven't quite got things right."

Barcelona was eliminated at the quarterfinal stage of the Champions League, lost the Copa del Rey final to Real Madrid and currently sits second in La Liga, four points behind leader Atletico with four rounds remaining.
