The Welsh star has rubbished claims that his record-breaking transfer fee might have a negative impact on his approach to the game.Real Madrid's Gareth Bale has dismissed suggestions that he will be affected negatively by the huge sum his club spent to acquire him from Tottenham.
The attacker finally completed his long-awaited switch to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu from White Hart Lane for a transfer fee believed to be a world record 100 million euros.
Bale has assured that the exorbitant price tag will not change his game whatsoever, as he feels he is professional enough to cope with the expectations that come with such a huge fee.
"I would have come here for a penny, for whatever," Bale told reporters. "The transfer fee is not something that affects me.
"It's something between Madrid and Spurs. It only brings extra pressure if I want it to."
Bale made 146 appearances for Tottenham since his arrival in 2007, scoring 42 goals, and he won the Premier League's Player of the Year honors last season.
