The Oranje playmaker has been ruled out of the upcoming games against Indonesia and China after suffering an Achilles injury
The Hamburg playmaker was named as part of the Oranje squad for the upcoming games against Indonesia and China, but a statement released by the Dutch FA (KNVB) has confirmed the player will not be fit to make the squad.
“Medical examinations have shown that Van der Vaart will be unavailable for selection for the next two friendlies against Asian opponents,” said the statement.
Louis van Gaal’s side play Indonesia on Friday June 7 before traveling to face China on June 11 in Beijing.
Van Gaal’s side is in good form after winning its last two games against Estonia and Romania 3-0 and 4-0 respectively.
Following the trip to Asia, Oranje are then back on European soil with a friendly against Portugal scheduled for August 14 at Estadio Algarve.
