The Belgian defender believes that with the level of investment into the club, there is no doubt that it will reach its lofty European ambitions sooner or later.

"We will win the Champions League one day. It is inevitable," Kompany told RMC. "The same question arose concerning the Premier League and we did it.
"With the investment being made in all areas of the club, that will surely come. When we see people like [Patrick] Vieira it's one of the things that can help us move forward. In Europe, we will be more competitive."
The center back insists that he will be staying at City to win more trophies, though Bayern Munich is said to be monitoring his situation should a departure become more likely.
"I am fine at City," Kompany said. "When you know the plans of the club, you can only stay. From the moment you consider that you can win as many trophies at City as at any other club, there is no reason to look elsewhere."
The City skipper also defended teammate Samir Nasri, who has come in for criticism both in England and in his native France, and believes that the club's season will be defined by whether it can win the FA Cup final.
"What we felt for Nasri is not what was written in France," Kompany said. "When he is in shape, he has a considerable impact on the team. He is important for us. If he is fit all season long, we can meet more challenges.
"With us, he is very serene and quiet. He works hard every time. I am quite satisfied with what he does.
"Has this been a good season? Historically, it is but, having tasted success last year, we still wanted to win. That said, it is not always easy with all the teams who target the Premier League title.
"Our season will also depend on the cup final. If we win, it'll be fine.
"It will not be easy. The Wembley pitch is huge and Wigan are a team who play good football with their Spanish coach. They play in an unusual system compared to the other teams of the Premier League.
"There is a risk but we were fully awake during the game we played against them recently. We will not be surprised."
