The Arsenal manager acknowledges that the 21-year-old midfielder "was not completely ready" to play in the 3-1 victory over Norwich City on Saturday after an ankle injuryArsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that he rushed Jack Wilshere back from injury so that the midfielder could play in the 3-1 victory over Norwich City on Saturday.
The 21-year-old, who was sidelined for the entire 2011-12 campaign, had sat out the Gunners' previous four matches with an ankle injury before making his return at the Emirates Stadium.
Wenger reinstalled Wilshere to his starting XI sooner than had been expected and the Frenchman concedes that he was not completely ready for action - but insists that he was not ignoring the advice of the club's medical staff.
"I rushed Jack back a bit; he was not completely ready," the manager told Arsenal's official website. "How careful must I be? To listen well to the medical advice and that is what I have to do.
"Use him when everything is alright and listen to him as well, how he feels. He has been out for six weeks, so maybe it was a bit too rushed what I did.
"He has practised with me since he was 16, so I know quite well how his body responds to things."
