Barcelona have confirmed the full-back will not feature for la Roja on Tuesday night and he could even be a doubt for the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final
The fullback pulled up late in Spain's 1-1 draw with Finland on Friday, and it was initially feared he could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines as a result of the problem.
Barca released a statement on Sunday to confirm that the former Valencia man will need a little more than a week to recover from the injury, meaning he will be absent from La Roja's crucial World Cup qualifier with France early next week and is questionable to return in time for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
"Jordi Alba will be off for between seven and 10 days," the club wrote in a statement. "Tests conducted this morning by the medical services of Barcelona confirmed the wingback has a hamstring strain in his right leg.
"Thus, if deadlines are met, Alba will miss Tuesday's commitment against France, and his presence is a doubt for the games against Celta and Paris Saint-Germain."
Spain heads to Paris on Tuesday needing a victory if the defending World Cup champion is to reclaim the top spot in Group I.
