Hummels sustains neck injury

The center back could be out of action for a number of days due to a knock he picked up in the Nationalelf's friendly reverse to Alejandro Sabella's side on Wednesday.
Mats Hummels could face a brief spell on the sidelines after sustaining a neck injury during Germany's 3-1 international friendly defeat to Argentina on Wednesday.

The center back was forced to leave the pitch on the 25th minute following a collision with Gonzalo Higuain earlier in the match.

It is not yet known how long Hummels will be out of action as he has yet to undergo further examination, but the center back is doubtful for Borussia Dortmund's DFB-Pokal clash with Oberneuland at the weekend.

Marcel Schmelzer, Ilkay Gundogan, Mario Gotze and Marco Reus also featured for Germany in Wednesday's match, but came out unscathed.

Dortmund opened the 2012-13 campaign with a 2-1 loss against Bayern Munich in last weekend's DFL-Supercup.
