Bayer Leverkusen attacker Andre Schurrle has voiced his concern over the ongoing unrest at the Bundesliga side in recent weeks.
Leverkusen has made plenty of headlines recently about the future of Michael Ballack at the club, while the behaviour of Michal Kadlec and Manuel Friedrich during the 3-1 Champions League round of 16 loss against Barcelona did not help to calm things down either.
"When I joined Leverkusen, they were regarded as a quiet club. I thought it would be very peaceful here, the complete opposite of how things currently are," Schurrle said to reporters.
"The newspapers are climbing over themselves to invent new stories that have nothing to do with football.
"That is getting on the team's nerves and it is unsettling us and the fans are becoming unhappy too. Things need to settle down again here quickly."
Schurrle joined Leverkusen from Mainz at the start of the 2011-12 campaign and has since become an important first team member for the Werkself.
