Ajax right back Gregory van der Wiel could miss this weekend’s derby match against Feyenoord as the 23-year-old missed training on Friday.

The Netherlands international has been struggling with groin problems in recent weeks which forced him to miss his side’s last two matches against AZ.

Now Frank de Boer has to decide whether the full back can feature against fierce rivals Feyenoord on Sunday as he is already without defenders Toby Alderweireld, Nicolai Boilesen and Andre Ooijer due to injury and attackers Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, whilst Derk Boerrigter is also unavailable for De Klassieker.

Ajax travel to Rotterdam to face Feyenoord on Sunday with the last meeting between these sides finishing 1-1.
