Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heycnkes has urged his team to not rest on their laurels when they face Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The Bavarians are currently top of the Bundesliga, but have slipped to unexpected defeats at times this campaign, losing five of their 18 games.

To ensure that they stay in top spot, the 66-year-old has told his players that they must impress in training to be assured of a place in the starting XI.

"You have to give good performances in training to establish yourself. I decide who will play close to the game, and I will make no concessions," the veteran coach told Bild.

Daniel Van Buyten's injury against Borussia Monchengladbach has all but assured Rafinha a place in Bayern's defense in the coming weeks, but the tactician has warned the Brazilian that the Allianz Arena club demand a high level of performance.

"Rafa is one who needs games and needs a boost. However, here at FC Bayern he must set the performance bar higher," the trainer concluded.

Bayern Munich faces Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena on January 28, and are currently locked on 37 points with Borussia Dortmund and Schalke at the top of the table.
