Serie A giants Inter is determined to keep Brazilian right back Maicon at the Giuseppe Meazza, and is ready to open negotiations with the 30-year-old about a contract extension, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The defender's current deal with the 2010 Champions League winners is due to expire in the summer of 2013, and clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are allegedly closely monitoring his situation.

Nevertheless, Inter is hopeful of holding on to the 30-year-old, and is set to offer him a two-year extension to his current deal.

The defender joined Inter from Monaco in the summer of 2006, and has since developed into a key player at the Nerazzurri.

Maicon has made 10 Serie A appearances for the club so far this season, scoring one goal.
