Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has declared that his biggest goal this season is winning the Bundesliga title for the first time in his career.

The 25-year-old has yet to lift the German league title after failing to become champions with Schalke, and Neuer is determined to finally add the Bundesliga crown to his trophy cabinet in 2011-12.

"I want to win the league at last. That's my biggest goal, even if some of the lads who’ve been here for a while and who’ve frequently laid hands on the championship shield might not want to hear it," Neuer was quoted as saying on the official FCB website.

The Germany international then went on to discuss Bayern's chances in the Champions League, and stated they have the quality to compete with favorites like Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"Our chances in Europe have a lot to do with form on the day. We've turned in a number of good displays in the Champions League. If we can repeat that or even improve on it, we're on a par with Barcelona or Madrid."

Bayern currently sits top of the Bundesliga table with 37 points from 17 games. The club faces Basel in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
