thumbnail Hello,

The Nerazzurri's Argentine striker has claimed the award for the first time in his career after a disappointing year as he succeeds fellow South American Adriano

Inter attacker Diego Milito has been awarded the 2011 Bidone d'Oro after amassing the most votes in Rai Radio 2 show 'Catersport' for their annual poll of the worst player of the year in Serie A.

The Argentine received 3099 (15.17%) votes and finished ahead of Juventus duo Amauri (2991 votes) and Milos Krasic (2180 votes), who had to settle for the Bidone d'Argento and Bidone di Bronzo respectively.

Milito succeeds former Brazil international Adriano, who scooped up the trophy last year following his unimpressive performances at Roma.

The prize was first awarded to then Milan player Rivaldo in 2003, and players such as Nicola Legrottaglie, Christian Vieri, Ricardo Quaresma and Felipe Melo have since 'won' the trophy.
