Inter coach Claudio Ranieri has stated that he does not want to classify his side's 2-0 success over Fiorentina as a 'turning point' for the rest of the season.
"Do not talk about the game being turning point," Ranieri told the club's official website. "There are lots of matches to go, but to play and to suffer like we did tonight was a test of our pride."
The 60-year-old feels its fortunes cannot be determined after just a single fixture, but preferred to view the win as an examination of the Nerazzurri's commitment to the cause.
"This is a team that knows how to get up from falling, and I must thank the fans, who were magnificent [tonight] and cheered the team on," said Ranieri.
Ranieri also expressed his insistence that his group of players have once again disproved claims of it being past its expiration date.
"These players are not finished and they showed tonight that they are all very laudable. The team countered with character, and their pride can be maintained forever," he said.
Inter has now climbed to ninth place in Serie A, and travels to Genoa on Tuesday.
