Heracles
7-0 VVV

Heracles started the match the better side of the two and deservedly opened the scoring shortly after the half-hour mark. Glynor Plet found the net after some good work from Kwame Quansah and Lerin Duarte, before Quansah made it two in the 42nd minute.

VVV was unable to keep the Heracles attack quiet and Marko Vejinovic poured even more salt in the Venlo side's wounds with a superb long range strike at the hour mark.

Things would only get worse for the visiting side from there on as Plet doubled his personal tally before Everton added his name to the scoresheet as well in the 76th minute.

The Almelo side could not get enough and continued to entertain the home crowd with some breathtaking attacks and Vejinovic made it six before young attacker Samuel Armenteros netted his side's seventh to help it to the club's biggest Eredivisie win in history.

Groningen
3-3 NEC

NEC came close to breaking the deadlock a number of times via Genero Zeefuik, but the PSV loanee failed to find the net on every occasion. The visiting side was made to pay for its sloppy finishing in the 28th minute when David Texeira made it 1-0 after a superb pass from Tom Hiariej.

Groningen didn't get to enjoy the lead too long, though, as Norwegian midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim tapped home a free kick from close range to level the scoring again.

Again Texeira restored his side's lead after the break following some sloppy defending from the visiting side, but a beautifully curled shot from Melvin Platje made it 2-2 in the 83rd minute.

Texeira thought he'd helped his side to the full three points when he headed home a superb Dusan Tadic cross from the left to get his hat trick, but some poor defending from Groningen gifted Platje the chance to once again restore parity well into stoppage time.

ADO Den Haag
3-0 NAC

ADO dominated play right from the start and deservedly went ahead when Charlton Vicento beat the NAC goalkeeper with a calm finish in the 34th minute.

The away side did its utmost to fight back in the remainder of the game, but it lacked the class to really trouble ADO and Jens Toornstra effectively put the match to bed halfway through the second half before Marc Hocher scored his side's third with a powerful shot in the top corner.

De Graafschap
1-2 Roda

Neither of the two sides really managed to impress in the opening 45 minutes of the game, but Roda started the second half superbly. Mads Junker set up Sanharib Malki with an intelligent header and the latter found the net with a calm finish.

Roda continued to dominate from there on and doubled the lead in the 65th minute. Martijn Monteyne sent in a good cross from the right and Adil Ramzi tapped home from close range.

De Graafschap did its utmost to get back in the game and eventually pegged one back via Yuri Rose, but it was too little, too late as Roda recorded a hard-fought win.

Ajax
4-1 Excelsior

Ajax started the match with attacking intentions and was rewarded for the positive attitude in the 11th minute when Jan Vertonghen volleyed home after a brilliant pass from Christian Eriksen.

Things got even worse for Excelsior when Samuel Scheimann was deservedly sent off after a reckless challenge on Miralem Sulejmani and Vertonghen doubled Ajax's lead from the following free kick.

Nevertheless, the visiting side surprisingly pegged one back in the closing stages of the first half when Darren Maatsen beat his direct opponent to the ball after a cross from the right and headed home.

Sulejmani then restored his side's two-goal lead when he converted a spot kick after the interval, before Nicolas Lodeiro added his name to the score sheet with a sweetly struck free kick.

Feyenoord
2-0 PSV

Match Report

Sekou Cisse gifted Feyenoord the lead with a calm finish in the opening 45 minutes, while Ruben Schaken made it two after the break following some poor defending from PSV's Jetro Willems.

Utrecht
2-6 Twente

Twente started the match superbly and needed only eight minutes to grab the lead. Ola John sent in a good cross from the left and the unmarked Peter Wisgerhof beat the Utrecht goalkeeper with a good header at the far post. The home side had hardly recovered from the opener when John made it two with a low shot in the near corner after cutting inside from the left.

Things only got worse for the home side after the interval as Willem Janssen headed home after a corner kick to make it three before Janssen doubled his personal tally after being set up by Denny Landzaat. The impressive John poured even more misery on Utrecht shortly after before play was suspended for 10 minutes due to crowd trouble.

Utrecht pegged two back after the brief break via Frank Demouge and Dave Bulthuis, but Twente's Steven Berghuis scored the last goal of the game as he made it 6-2.

Vitesse
4-0 RKC

Vitesse dominated play right from the start and unsurprisingly went ahead in the early stages of the game when Jan-Arie van der Heijden hammered home a free kick from the edge of the area.

Valeri Qazaishvili then made it two for the home side with a delicate chip, before Stanley Aborah scored the Arnhem side's third with a good header.

Star striker Wilfried Bony also added his name to the score sheet after the interval when he coolly converted a spot kick in the 59th minute.

Heerenveen
5-1 AZ

Heerenveen started furiously and got three chances to open the scoring within the first five minutes. It was thus not much of a surprise when towering striker Bas Dost gifted the home side the lead in the 14th minute after a set piece.

AZ wasn't too impressed and restored parity shortly after when Jozy Altidore kept his cool after a good combination with Brett Holman and made it 1-1. However, Rajiv van la Parra fired Heerenveen back in the lead after a quick counterattack.

The home side started the second half like it had begun the first and was duly rewarded for the positive attitude. Filip Djuricic showed some excellent control before beating the AZ shot stopper with a low shot, and Ramon Zomer then made it four after a good low cross from Jeffrey Gouweleeuw.

Heerenveen continued to push for more and the helpless AZ defense was once again beaten in the 74th minute. Viktor Elm set up Luciano Narsingh and the winger found the net with a delicate chip.
