We need someone like Manchester City's Carlos Tevez, admits AC Milan's Kevin-Prince Boateng

AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng believes that his side must attempt to sign Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez to bolster their attacking firepower.

Speaking to Il Corriere dello Sport, the former Tottenham man holds the opinion that the wantaway hitman would be a better option than Catania's Maxi Lopez for the Serie A champions, but says he has no qualms about the possibility of both forwards arriving in January.

"Maxi [Lopez] plays well, but we need someone like Carlitos [Carlos Tevez]," Boateng said. "However, I would take both of them."

Boateng then proceeded to discuss the issue of Antonio Cassano's enforced unavailability from selection, and confessed that he has been sorely missed.

"Cassano is truly a champion, and we are missing him," he explained. "You just have to see what he had done in this first month of the season."

"Robinho and Pato are just as good, but Antonio has different characteristics and therefore can offer different things to the team."

The former Ghana international was finally quizzed on his future at San Siro, and promptly voiced his desire to remain at Milan for the foreseeable future.

"I'm fine here at the moment, I want to stay," said Boateng. "I have a contract here for another four years and I intend to respect it.

"I'm at a great club and live in a big city, but in life you never know what can happen."

Milan is currently second in the Serie A table, two points behind leaders Juventus. The Rossoneri travel to Genoa on Friday.
