Atletico Madrid defender Alvaro Dominguez has taken to Twitter to complain about the match officials in Saturday's 4-1 defeat to city rivals Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Two Atletico players, Thibaut Courtois and Diego Godin, were given their marching orders during the course of the match as Jose Mourinho's men came from behind to extend their unbeaten streak against their city rivals.

After the match, Dominguez tweeted, "How difficult it is to play with 10 men against 14!"

However, he deleted the comment soon afterwards.

His sentiments were echoed by his coach Gregorio Manzano, who believed the referee should not have sent the young Belgian goalkeeper off.

"I would not have shown him red, it was a determinant play," the 55-year-old said in the wake of the match.

Atletico Madrid sit in 11th place in the table, and face Celtic in a crucial Europa League match on Wednesday.
