1-3 | PSV |
PSV started the match with attacking intentions and got the early goal it was after in the 11th minute. Zakaria Labyad set up Tim Matavz, who nut-megged his opponent before placing the ball into the far corner. However, the team were dealt a huge blow shortly after when Andreas Isaksson failed to hold on to Souphian El Hassnaoui's shot and somehow pushed the ball over his own goalline.
The Eindhoven side continued to cause the Doetinchem side's defense all kinds of trouble with runs from midfield and Georginio Wijnaldum restored PSV's lead after the break with a shot in the top corner before Wijnaldum made it three in the closing stages of the game.
| Heracles |
1-1 | Twente |
Neither of the two sides really managed to impress in the opening 45 minutes, but the match sprung to life after the break. Peter Wisgerhof gifted Twente the lead with a good header after a cross from Ola John and again Wisgerhof and Willem Janssen both got huge chances to put the game to bed.
However, they both aimed wide and were made to pay for it in the dying seconds of the game. Marko Vejinovic found Lerin Duarte with an intelligent through pass and the winger found the net with a low shot into the far corner.
| NEC |
1-2 | Roda |
The away side went 1-0 up after the interval when Sanharib Malki was alert after sloppy defending from Ryan Koolwijk and beat NEC goalkeeper Gabor Babos. Wiljan Pluim then doubled Roda's lead with a finish from close range after a deflected free kick.
Some unimpressive goalkeeping from the Roda shot-stopper helped NEC back in the game as Melvin Platje made it 2-1. However, the home side was unable to level the scores in the remainder of the game.
| Heerenveen |
1-1 | RKC |
Young attacker Geoffrey Castillion tapped home from close range after only 12 minutes of play to give RKC a surprising lead at the Abe Lenstra stadion.
Nevertheless, the visiting team was unable to walk away from Friesland with the full three points as veteran striker Gerald Sibon leveled the scoring after the break with a delicate chip from 20 yards out.
| Ajax |
2-2 | NAC |
Ajax dominated play right from the start and deservedly broke the deadlock in the 38th minute. Nicolas Lodeiro went past his direct opponent before setting up Miralem Sulejmani and the Serbian coolly slotted home.
Lodeiro again showed his class after the break when he found Derk Boerrigter on the left with a superb cross. The winger didn't hesitate and fired home from a narrow angle to make it two.
Things were not meant to be though for the home side as Santi Kolk pegged one back in the closing stages after a howler from Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer before Robbert Schilder helped NAC to a hard-fought draw with a powerful long range strike.
| Vitesse |
0-4 | Feyenoord |
Feyenoord started the match in Arnhem brilliantly and needed only four minutes to open the scoring. The Vitesse defense allowed John Guidetti too much space and the young Swede found the net with a calm finish.
Ron Vlaar then doubled Feyenoord's lead on the half hour mark when he headed home a Jordy Clasie free kick before Guidetti made it three when he tapped home a rebound.
The Vitesse defense continued to struggle to contain Guidetti and the Manchester City loanee shrugged off his direct opponent before setting up Sekou Cisse for Feyenoord's fourth of the afternoon in the 56th minute.
| ADO Den Haag |
2-2 | Utrecht |
Utrecht started the match the better side of the two and scored the opener in the 10th minute with Daan Bovenberg having no problems finding the net from close range.
The visiting side was unable to hold on to its lead though and Charlton Vicento restored parity in the 30th minute before Lex Immers beat the Utrecht goalkeeper with a stunning volley to make it 2-1 for the home team.
Utrecht was awarded a spot kick in the closing stages of the game after Christian Kum handled the ball inside his own area and Leon de Kogel fired home from 12 yards to salvage a draw.
| Groningen |
2-1 | VVV |
Groningen somewhat surprisingly fell behind in the 16th minute when Yanic Wildschut found the net with a calm finish after a superb attack.
Nevertheless, VVV was dealt a huge blow when the referee controversially dismissed Andrea Mei after an alleged foul on Dusan Tadic and awarded Groningen a penalty. Leandro Bacuna stepped up to take it and made no mistake from the spot to level the scoring.
Tadic continued to cause the VVV defense all kinds of trouble and the Serbian winger went past his direct opponent in the 51st minute before setting up David Texeira, who calmly placed the ball past the VVV shot-stopper from inside the box.
| Excelsior |
susp. | AZ |
Play was suspended after 45 minutes at 0-0 due to a thick fog. The teams were 0-0 at the break when the official decided that conditions were unplayable and suspended the second half.
AZ remains three points up in the table and has a game in hand on second place PSV.
