Tops

Marc Albrighton (Aston Villa)

Another impressive display from the 19-year-old midfielder, who must surely be in with a chance of winning the player of the tournament award. There were no nerves from the English playmaker against a strong Juve side as he constantly ran at their defense and looked to create chances throughout.

Carlos Cuellar (Aston Villa)

The Spanish defender will ensure that Villa do not miss the retired Martin Laursen as he showed once again that he is the leader at the back alongside the ever-improving Curtis Davies.

Mauro Camoranesi
(Juventus)

Tireless once again as he ran up and down the pitch to support the forwards and tracked back to break up play when Aston Villa moved up field. The veteran performer could also be a candidate for player of the tournament.

Felipe Melo (Juventus)

Despite only just having joined La Vecchia Signora, the midfielder looks like he has played in their midfield for years. In the final game, he showed some composed touches as the Italians created more than enough chances to win the game several times over.

Flops

John Carew (Aston Villa)

The powerful Norwegian had one long-range free-kick that stood out, but, given his size, did not impose himself anywhere near enough against a defense that will leave thinking they had a quiet night.

David Trezeguet (Juventus)

A tough choice between him and Vicenzo Iaquinta, but the Frenchman's glaring second-half miss following a Jonathan Zebina setup edges it for him. Juve had numerous chances to claim the cup and the strikers were simply not up to the task on the day.
