Javier Saviola signed for Benfica this summer after enduring an indifferent two seasons with Real Madrid.

He has been a starter for Benfica in preseason friendlies and scored a goal in his first game for the club.

According to Diego Queiruga, Saviola's agent, the former Barcelona star is astonished with what he has found at the Estadio da Luz.

"Saviola is happy and really eager for the competitions to begin," he told Record. "He is satisfied with the club, the infrastructure and the colleagues.

"And now he only wants to return, through his football, everything good he has been given.

"The impression he has is that Benfica are at the same level as the top teams in Europe. At the same level of Real Madrid or Barcelona.

"Savioa knew that Benfica were the biggest club in Portugal but he never thought they would have this infrastructure."
