The north east club were relegated on the last day of the season, leading to speculation about the futures of many of their top players.
Tuncay is rumoured to be on his way out of the club, with Fulham and Aston Villa reportedly leading to race for his signature.
Boro boss Gareth Southgate is hoping to keep as many of his first team players as he can, but it seems the Turkey international will leave the club.
The 27-year-old has hinted that he would be interested in a move to another English club, rather than a return to his homeland.
Speaking to Gazette Live, Tuncay said, "Football in England takes over your life and I was happy with how I played.
"There is contact with several teams, but I cannot say how much or when until any formal offers have been made.
"There is interest from not just England, but Germany and Spain but I want to play for another three years in England - like Tugay Kerimoglu did.
"He was very good in the UK and has left his mark.
"I do not want to return to Turkey, I enjoy playing in England - but if I did return it would be for Fenerbahce."
The future of the former Fenerbahce striker is still very much in the balance, but a move back to the Premier League is still the most likely outcome for the energetic player.
The 27-year-old has been at the Riverside for the past two years, and has scored 15 goals in 67 Premier League appearances for the club.
