Hernandez converted an Alexander Buttner cross in the 16th minute at Old Trafford, equalizing the game before Wilfried Bony's late header gave Swansea the 2-1 win in the third-round clash. It was Hernandez's first strike since he bagged a brace in United's 4-0 win against Norwich City in the Capital One Cup on Oct. 29.
Hernandez, who scored 20, 12 and 18 goals in his first three campaigns with United, now has five in 2013-14 — three in the Capital One Cup, one in the Premier League and Sunday's FA Cup tally.
The strike on a savvy goal-crashing run from "Chicharito" came after he missed a golden opportunity in the 11th minute following a clever setup from Danny Welbeck and Chris Smalling. Hernandez misfired again just before halftime, volleying a service from Jonny Evans wide.
