Deportivo La Coruna Star Jose Andres Guardado Could Miss Remainder Of Season
Tests will reveal the extent of the Mexican's injury.
By Paul Madden
Deportivo La Coruna winger Jose Andres Guardado could miss the rest of the season with a groin injury according to Marca.
The Mexican had to be replaced just 14 minutes into the scoreless draw with Almeria at the Riazor on Sunday and an initial scan revealed that he had strained his right groin.
Guardado is expected to undergo further tests and if the initial diagnosis is confirmed, he will miss the majority of Depor's five remaining fixtures and possibly all five.
The Galician outfit have seen their initial push for a European place fade drastically with just four wins since November seeing them drop to ninth in the Primera Liga table and Guardado's absence would be a blow as the look to arrest that slump.
Next up for Depor is a tough trip to the Mestalla to face Valencia, followed by home games against Zaragoza and Mallorca and testing away trips away to Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao.
