The Mexican international has said that it would be a great boost for Depor to sign his compatriot from Tottenham Hotspur.

Andres Guardado believes that if Deportivo de La Coruna can secure the services of Giovani Dos Santos then he would help lift the level of the team up.

The Mexican forward is excited by reports that the Galician club are interested in signing his compatriot from Tottenham Hotspur in the winter transfer window.

Dos Santos was named as the Player of the Tournament at the Gold Cup earlier this year due to his performances for Mexico, and Guardado is a huge fan.

Depor coach Miguel Angel Lotina has stated that he would like to sign the former Barca youngster, but Spurs have also said that they want to keep him.

"If Giovani came then we would be able to count on a quality player who has huge potential and can help raise the level of the team," Guardado was quoted as saying by AS.

"He is a great player and I am not just saying that because he is Mexican, but because he is going through a very good time on a personal level.

"In his club side he is not being given much time to play and it would be great if he went to another team because he is a very important player for Mexico. If he came here then even better."
