Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has confirmed that the French club is interested in signing Manchester City outcast Carlos Tevez.
The Argentine forward has been on the fringes of the City squad since allegedly refusing to go on as a substitute in a Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Tevez's representative, Kia Joorabchian, has reportedly been negotiating with Italian giants AC Milan over a move to the San Siro.
However, PSG has now confirmed its interest in the forward, revealing that it made an enquiry as far back as last summer.
"PSG have not made a bid for Tevez, we enquired in the summer and are obviously still interested," Leonardo told Corriere della Sera. "I spoke with the player's agent, he told me that Carlitos preferred to go to Milan.
"But Manchester wants to sell and not loan. If City agree to loan Tevez then he goes to Milan, the case is closed. Otherwise the market is open."
Leonardo also insisted that he is not using the move as a way of getting back at the club he formerly managed.
He added: "The goal is not to inflict a blow to Milan. We are interested for quite some time. This is not a sudden twist."
