Guti Adds David Villa And David Silva To Real Madrid Shopping List
The midfielder has spoken about Barcelona and also Manuel Pellegrini.
Champions League winners Barcelona remind Guti of Real Madrid under Florentino Perez, the Spanish midfielder revealed today.
The Catalans have won plenty of plaudits for their play this season and in Rome they dominated against Manchester United to win their third title this year.
Guti told AS that he feels a "healthy envy" with regards to the final and says the "Barca of yesterday were like Madrid under Florentino".
"I do not feel great happiness or sadness, one must just congratulate Barcelona for their great year. They have a great team and coach. [Pep] Guardiola is a large part of the success because he has only made two or three signings and yet has changed the team's mentality. The players are together and that is seen on the pitch. However, people are coming into Madrid with lots of desire and we can have a good team," he said.
One man who could well be joining Guti at Madrid next year is Manuel Pellegrini, and the midfielder spoke briefly about him today.
"He is a great coach and has had good seasons with Villarreal. All the coaches mentioned in the press have a lot of prestige but the style of Pellegrini would be good for Madrid. He understands football," he explained.
After insisting that he will be staying at Madrid next season, Guti reflected on the impending arrival of Perez in the Spanish capital.
"It will be an exciting phase. Previously he won many titles and bought the best players in the world, this time he will make a strong team so we can compete in all three competitions. I hope [Franck] Ribery, Kaka or Cristiano [Ronaldo] come, but also Spanish players. [David] Villa and [David] Silva could play perfectly at Madrid," he concluded.
