The Argentine striker proved the difference between the sides after scoring a spectacular goal, and he was thrilled after the match.

Gonzalo Higuain once again proved to be the hero for Real Madrid, and he was understandably delighted following their 1-0 win at Malaga.

Higuain scored with a magnificent solo effort in the 49th minute, which ultimately decided the game. Speaking to reporters after the match, he said, "I had several chances, but luckily my goal proved to be the winner."

"This win helps us to continue putting pressure on Barcelona."

After having a stellar start to the season, Higuain has not been scoring as many goals of late, but he was never concerned, continuing, "I always give my all, sometimes you score and sometimes you don't."

Unfortunately for Los Merengues, Barcelona also picked up a win, and there are just nine games left. Higuain, however, has not given up hope, stating, "We couldn't cut the lead because Barcelona won, but we must continue to win in case they lose."

Finally, 'El Pipita' spoke of the effect the "FIFA Virus" may have had, saying, "We were all equal and the ones who played today played well."

Next week, Real Madrid host Real Valladolid at the Bernabeu.
