Pep Guardiola might be keen on not over-hyping his side this season, but Eric Abidal certainly seemed intent to big them up as much as possible today.
The French defender told AS that not only is Lionel Messi the best player he has ever seen, but that Barcelona are the best side too.
"At this time, Barcelona are the best team that I have ever seen," he declared.
"We are getting so many points and playing so many games, and we need to continue this until the end of the season.
"There is more happiness in training and in the dressing room...That helps us to get better results."
Indeed, Barcelona have been very impressive this season, and lead Real Madrid by 12 points in La Liga at the moment.
Abidal paid tribute to the physical work of the side, before looking forward to the derby with Espanyol in the Copa Del Rey this week.
"The physical coach knows each player well, and how they should do develop, and I have found a way to work with him," he mused.
"We are at home in the Copa, where we play better, and I believe if we score once, we will get two or three."
Along with Espanyol, Abidal also looked forward to the Champions League next month, when Barcelona meet his former club Lyon.
The defender said that the French team know it will be tough, and that the game in France, 'will be the most important'.
He also spoke about Karim Benzema, a rumoured target of Barcelona's, saying that he is a, 'good player', who would probably be, 'very happy to sign for us'.
