Player Ratings: Sevilla 0-2 Racing Santander

Racing Santander picked up their fifth away win of the season with a convincing display at Sevilla despite going down to ten men in the first half. Goal.com watched the game and handed each player a mark out of ten.

Nicola Zigic, Racing Santander (Marca)

SEVILLA

Palop 4.5 - Did make a number of interventions, but was badly at fault for the opening goal as he palmed it down rather than away.

F. Navarro 5.5 - Was actually the liveliest of all as he looked to push forward and would have done more, but he was fouled on numerous occasions.

Dragutinovic 5 - Found coping with the sprightly Munitis hard going and it was no surprise when he was taken off midway through the second half.

Squillaci 4.5 - Not many Sevilla defenders can come away with their heads held high as even with ten men Racing caused them problems.

Escudé 5 - Was helpless against the height of Zigic and was the name that Jiménez chose when deciding who to take out of his defense at the break.

Renato 4.5 - Added very little to a lackluster Sevilla display and it was surprising that he was not taken off.

Romaric 5.5 - Had the odd shot and started well, but did not put himself about enough and did not stop Racing going forward.

Adriano 5 - Should have backed Capel up but he was not involved in the game anywhere near as much as he has been when producing his best.

Capel 6 - Was seen by Racing as one of the key men for Sevilla and was stopped from playing very effectively.

Kanouté 5 - Did very little, but tracked back and tried to help with the build-up play on occasion even if he was not very successful.

Fabiano 4 - To coin a phrase, the Brazilian could not hit a barn door with a banjo as he missed everything that came his way in an off night.

Subs

Chevantón 5.5 - Battled and showed spirit, but for all his huffing and puffing he was unable to change the outcome.

Pukki 5 - Looked lively and ran around a lot although there was little end result from the highly rated youngster.

RACING SANTANDER

Toño 8.5 - Made some superb saves in the second half and allowed Racing to continue playing calmly throughout in the knowledge that he was in form.

Valera 6 - Forced out of the game after just 21 minutes, the defender hardly had time to make an impression in the encounter.

Marcano 8 - Employed to stop Capel down the left, who was also supported by Adriano, and he did his job almost impeccably.

C. Navas 7.5 - Racing may have kept a clean sheet, but Sevilla had plenty of chances and he will be grateful that Fabiano was off form.

Oriol 8 - Was a huge figure at the back for Racing throughout and only left the action after picking up a knock with quarter of an hour to go.

Lacen 7.5 - Showed a calm head to clear the ball and to find those in front of him when clearing as well as battling back constantly.

Colsa 8 - Another assured display from a very under-rated midfielder and he will have been pleased with his performance as he led from the center.

Serrano 3 - Started very well and looked full of running, but a very clumsy and late tackle on Fabiano earned him an early bath and left his team-mates to play with ten.

Munitis 8.5 - A fully-committed display from the striker as he was employed on the right flank and ran tirelessly and showed some neat footwork too.

Perreira 7 - Worked tirelessly and never stopped harrying and hassling the Sevlla players before his habitual substitution in place of Toni Moral.

Zigic 8 - A complete nuisance both in the air and on the floor as the lofty striker put in a polished performance to rile Sevilla.

Subs

Toni Moral 7 - Added to the midfield and looked to help run the ball out of defence and did his job effectively in the closing minutes.

Moratón 7 - Came on late, but still slipped seamlessly in and helped Racing by adding his fresh legs to the visitors' team.

Pinillos 8 - Played over 70 minutes and was outstanding in the second half when he made several tackles and clearances that were to be crucial
