Herrera scores in Porto's Champions League win

The Mexican midfielder gave his side a precious away goal as the tie heads back to Portugal next week.

Hector Herrera scored in the 61st minute as FC Porto earned a huge 1-0 victory over Lille in the first leg of their Champions League playoff.

Substitute Cristian Tello whipped in a great cross from the right, which Jackson Martinez headed down, producing a fantastic save from Vincent Enyeama. The Mexican international was on hand to put the rebound into an open net from short range.

It was the first European goal for the 24-year-old, who joined the Portuguese giants last summer from Pachuca.

Porto will return home with the advantage for the second leg, which will take place on Tuesday at the Estadio do Dragao. The winner of the tie gains entry into the Champions League group phase.
