Barca has now confirmed that its talisman is in contention for a recall against Die Roten.
"Leo Messi took a full part in training on Sunday morning and although he has not yet been declared match fit by club doctors, he has been included in the squad to face Bayern in Munich," a statement on Barcelona's official website read.
The Liga leader also revealed Javier Mascherano and Carles Puyol will both miss the clash against the Bavarians through injury, but reserve team goalkeeper Oier has been included in the travelling party.
