The former goalkeeper believes the Blaugrana's historic comeback against the Serie A outfit is one that will not be forgotten quicklyBarcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta believes that the Catalans' 4-2 comeback win over AC Milan in their Champions League round of 16 tie will be remembered for many years to come.
"We will remember this for years," Zubizarreta told the club's official website. "From the very first minute we pressured them really well high up the pitch and we didn’t let them think. Milan showed us why they are in the Champions League, but we played an excellent match. We were very organised going forward, we had rhythm and a lot of continuity."
The Blaugrana found themselves in a tricky situation after losing the first leg at San Siro 2-0, but an impressive 4-0 victory at home on Tuesday courtesy of two goals from Lionel Messi, as well as strikes from David Villa and Jordi Alba, helped them to the quarter-finals after all.
"I’m very happy for all of the guys. We saw a lot of positive things and it’s worth sitting down and analyzing it all when we’ve calmed down a bit," Zubizarreta said. "Messi’s two goals were great for the team, Villa’s was very important and Alba made everyone’s dreams come true."
The draw for the quarterfinals of the Champions League takes place in Nyon on Friday.
