Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes is brimming with confidence ahead of Tuesday's Champions League match away against Lille, and has little doubt the Bavarians have what it takes to get a good result.
The Bundesliga giant cannot afford to spill points versus the French side after losing its previous Group F match against BATE, but the veteran trainer is confident his side will once again perform on the big stage.
"The Champions League is the most prestigious competition in football and we are going to give everything for a victory," he stated at a press conference. "When I look at our statistics I can see that we play well when we need to, and we win and get good results when we have to, even against big teams like Villarreal, Manchester City or Real Madrid."
Heynckes then went on to stress that Lille will not be a pushover in Tuesday's Champions League encounter.
"Our scouts went to watch LOSC's weekend game against Bordeaux, and I saw it on television. They are one of the best teams in France, regardless of the league table," he said. "They are well organized and have a good structure. We are going to give everything we have and I am happy to have a number of experienced players."
Bayern has collected three points from two games, but Rudi Garcia's side has lost both of its European encounters this season.
