Inter striker Diego Forlan is looking forward to making his first Champions League appearance for the Nerazzurri men in the first leg of their round of 16 match against Olympique de Marseille at the Stade Velodrome this Wednesday.

The former Atletico Madrid star was cup-tied for the group stages of the tournament, and is desperate to return to the European stage again.

"I was missing playing Champions League football. This competition is the most important in the world and I'm looking forward to playing in it again. Now I can and we are already in the last 16," Forlan was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.

"There are a lot of strong teams with outstanding players. You just need to take it match by match and avoid setting expectations too high. We have to focus on the tie with Marseille, get past them, and then we will see."

Wednesday's match at the Stade Velodrome kicks off at 2.45 p.m. ET.
