Player Ratings: Standard Liege 2-0 Olympiacos

Standard Liege kept their Champions League hopes alive tonight with a hard-fought win against Greek champions Olympiacos in Belgium. Goal.com rates each individual performance.

Champions League: Standard Liege - Olympiakos / Carcela-Gonzalez - Maresca (INTIME)
Standard Liege

Bolat: 7 - An absolute rock solid performance once again from the young Turkish 'keeper. Kept out Mellberg 'sure thing' with great reflexes.

Ricardo Rocha: 5 - Like the rest of his defensive counterparts, flapped a bit towards the end of the second half.

Sarr: 4.5 - Under too much pressure from Mitroglou and was hooked at half-time for Victor Ramos.

Felipe: 5.5 - Had problems with Mitroglou, but managed to keep the hitman from doing any damage.

Camozzato: 5 - Caught sleeping a few times, and could have done better to get forward. Found himself in the ref's book after a cynical challenge.

De Camargo: 6 - The skipper kept on top of the game, but didn't play with the same conviction as we've seen him display in the past.

Witsel: 6.5 - Yet to show his true colors on the European stage, Witsel showed good defensive prowess as well as flashes of his talent for producing deadly long balls.

Mangala: 7 - Always up for a tussle, let down by one late challenge that resulted in a yellow card. Almost scored with a heroic charging header. Good shift from the midfielder.

Carcela-Gonzalez :7 - Another midfielder that should have had a goal for his efforts. Never afraid to shoot, Carcela rattled the bar with one particularly venomous shot. Didn't neglect his defensive duties either.

Jovanovic: 8 - Absolute class. The big Serb shows fluency on the ball like no one else his size can. Looked like he was losing his temper as he tried to calm down his flapping team with a goal in the second half. However, after a lot of struggling and a few deep breaths, the colossal hitman got his wish.

Mbokani: 8 - Never stopped running, won countless free kicks, corners and throw-ins, all the while showing great skill on the ball. With a more creative midfield, one has to wonder what kind of damage this strike partnership could cause when they're on form.

Subs

Victor Ramos: 6 - Showed great determination after Laszlo Boloni entrusted him with Sarr's spot.

Olympiacos

Nikopolodis: 4.5 - Let in two goals and looked flustered on a few set pieces. The Greeks could have gone through tonight had their veteran 'keeper been on top of his game.

Raul Bravo: 8.5 - How did this man not score, or at least get an assist? Covered more ground that anyone else on the pitch, sent in pinpoint crosses any time he was out on the left, made countless fruitful runs and almost scored after arriving right on time at the back post. On top of all that, defended better than anyone else on the pitch. It's almost unfair to see Raul Bravo in the losing team tonight.

A. Papadopoulos: 6 - Originally thought to be one of Zico's three center-backs, the speedy Greek set off down the right with great conviction.

Galitsios: 5.5 - Swept up well for most of the match, but could have done more to keep Jovanovic quiet.

Mellberg: 5.5 - Stood strong for the duration, but was caught out a few times by Mbokani. Playing in the center of the three full-time defenders, he orchestrated his fellow players well, but, for conceding two goals, he and his fellow defenders cannot be awarded more for their efforts.

Zewlakow: 5.5 - Fairly quiet this week, the Pole enjoyed his last outing against Standard a lot more. Restricted to defensive duties only, Mbokani made Zewlakow work for his wages tonight.

Maresca: 7 - Was the dominant force of the midfield area for much of the game before Standard cottoned on to his string-pulling antics and attempted to silence him. Almost scored with a Managa-like charging header.

Dudu: 7 - Swept up well when called upon. Never afraid to shoot, the Brazilian showed his samba class on several occasions as he took to the stage after Maresca was shut out.

Oscar Gonzalez: 5.5 - Kept things ticking over, but dived a few times resulting in a yellow card and a substitution.

Galletti: 6 - In a rather inexplicable turn of events, Zico decided to hook Galletti before half-time, despite the Argentine putting in a MOTM performance against the Belgians in the previous clash. Played well for the time he was allowed to.

Mitroglou: 6 - Great hold up play from the striker. Did his best to wriggle away from his markers, succeeding on a few occasions.

Subs

Fetfatzidis: 4 - Replaced Galletti, but didn't do anything to warrant the change. Silly decision by Zico.

Stoltidis: N/A

G. Papadopoulos:
