Azerbaijani champions FK Baku got tonight's action underway at home to Ekranas with a comprehensive 4-2 win over the Lithuanian titleholders to secure their place in the third qualifying round. All six goals in the second leg came in the second half, bringing the aggregate score to 6-4.

Belarusian outfit BATE Borisov matched the score of their first tie against Makedonija Gjorce Petrov by defeating their visitors two goals to nil. BATE can now look forward to facing the winner between FK Ventspils and F91 Dudelange in the next stage of the competition.

Maryan Ognyanov, Hristo Yovov, Ivan Tsachev and Alexandar Kirov featured on the scoresheet during Levski Sofia's second demolition of Sant Julia, taking their total tally to nine over both legs. The Cypriots took the game to the Faroes last week, and tonight, APOEL schooled EB/Streymur once again with a convincing 3-0 home win over the visitors.

History repeated itself tonight in Moldova as a single Alexandr Suvorov goal proved the difference between the sides - once again from the penalty spot. Perhaps not prolific in front of goal, Sheriff Tiraspol still proved the better side against Inter Turku.

Zrinski traveled to Slovakia with a single home goal advantage against their hosts, but an exceedingly competent Slovan Bratislava saw to it that their opponents did not progress to the next round. Three first half goals from the home side certainly put a dampener on the Herzegovian outfit's evening, but a fourth goal deep in second-half injury time was enough to add insult to injury.

Highlights of the latter part of the evening included Dinamo Zagreb getting their act together after last week's goalless draw against Pyunik, winning tonight's tie three goals to nil; Stabaek finding the net four times to bring their overall score against Tirana to 5-1; and Partizan notching up an almost comical 8-0 victory over their Welsh opponents Rhyl, which brings the Serbian goal tally to 12-0 overall.
