1. Boston Breakers - Any team is happy to go on the road and steal points from the home club. For Boston to go into Missouri and get a point against the stacked St. Louis Athletica, it showed all the naysayers they are legit. (2)

2. St. Louis Athletica - Weather may have played a factor in Athletica‘s 1-1 draw vs. Boston on Sunday, but that‘s no excuse. Hope Solo seemed affected by the drenched field: "These conditions were not good. After the first mishap I didn’t even want the ball played back to me.” St. Louis better get focused on the game if it hopes to go to DC and beat the Freedom next weekend. (1)

3. FC Gold Pride - Good teams find ugly ways to win, and that‘s exactly what the Pride did last weekend, beating Atlanta, 2-1, despite being flat most the night. Carrie Dew saved the team with her goal in the 88th minute. (3)

4. Sky Blue FC - Coach Pauliina Miettinen still isn‘t happy with the team‘s overall play, but she is with the results. Sky Blue FC notched its second 1-0 victory over Chicago and, despite three lackluster games, sit atop the WPS standings. Next up is a rematch with the Pride, who beat them 3-1 in week two. (5)

5. Philadelphia Independence - By far the most dominating performance of the weekend came from Val Henderson, Lori Lindsey and the Independence, who ousted the Freedom, 3-1, on Sunday thanks to three second-half goals in 18 minutes. Amy Rodriguez looks like she‘s ready to break out. (7)

6. Washington Freedom - Loss. Win. Loss. It may be tough to continue that trend with St. Louis coming into town this weekend. Abby Wambach is doing her job; the rest of the Freedom is struggling. (4)

7. Chicago Red Stars - Playing the defending champs two out of three times to open the season, sandwiched around a match against St. Louis, isn’t exactly a favorable schedule. Chicago looks promising, but needs to begin finishing the chances they create. Coach Emma Hayes knows it: “We're not putting the ball in the back of the net and that's important for me to address in training.” (6)

8. Atlanta Beat - It‘s good news, bad news for the Beat: Good news is that Ramona Bachmann is quickly emerging as a standout player; bad news is that Tobin Heath, the Beat‘s top pick in this year‘s draft, left the 2-1 loss to the Pride early on with a right ankle injury, and was last seen on crutches. A plus, the Beat ends its month-long road trip next weekend. (8)
