VIDEO: Sky Blue FC Speak On Championship Win

A triumphant trio of Sky Blue players participated in the press conference after winning the championship game of Women's Professional Soccer.

CARSON, Calif. - Sky Blue Players were determined to do New Jersey proud, and they did just that by bringing a championship to the area when they claimed the first Women's Professional Soccer title with a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Sol.

Player/coach Christie Rampone, forward Natasha Kai and midfielder Heather O'Reilly all spoke after the victory in the post-match press conference.

Rampone congratulated the effort of her players.

"I think it’s an exceptional team we have here with Sky Blue FC," Rampone said. "It was a great run for us,battling back to make it into the playoffs and winning three games in eight days."

Two head coaches, Ian Sawyers and Kelly Lindsey, left the squad in succession before Rampone took over to guide the team to the title. Despite the triumph, Rampone explained that she would not stay on as coach, but return be being a full-time player next season.

Kai and O'Reilly also chimed in with their thoughts.
