Magee, Yedlin among nine uncapped players on USA roster

The likes of Luis Gil, Shane O'Neill and Chris Klute will also have an opportunity to impress during January's camp in Carson, Calif., and Sao Paulo.
With the World Cup six months away, Jurgen Klinsmann still isn't afraid to experiment.

While the U.S. national team roster released Friday features stalwarts such as Landon Donovan, Matt Besler and Omar Gonzalez, the squad for January's camp in Carson, Calif. and Sao Paulo also has nine uncapped players — including MLS MVP Mike Magee and U.S. U-20 World Cup veterans DeAndre Yedlin, Luis Gil and Shane O'Neill.

The squad also includes national team regulars Kyle Beckerman, Mix Diskerud, Brad Evans, Clarence Goodson, Eddie Johnson, Nick Rimando and Graham Zusi. Diskerud, of Norwegian side Rosenborg, is the only non-MLS player.

In addition to Magee, Yedlin, Gil and O'Neill, the uncapped players are Tally Hall, Michael Harrington, Chris Klute, Chance Myers and Seth Sinovic. For Benny Feilhaber, Dax McCarty and Eric Alexander, the camp represents a recall after lengthy layoffs.

The camp, which begins Monday in Carson, will see the 26-man roster trimmed to 23 players for the trip Sao Paulo from Jan. 13-25. The month of training will culminate with a friendly against South Korea on Feb. 1 at the StubHub Center in Carson.
