Fresh off an international appearance in his father's home land, the USA midfielder netted the game-winning goal for Anderlecht in Sunday's 3-0 triumph.
Kljestan, who scored his first goal of the campaign in Anderlecht's 4-1 victory over Genk prior to the international fixture date, notched a 74th-minute score Sunday to snap a scoreless deadlock. Frank Acheampong and Guillaume Gillet added insurance tallies to help Anderlecht to its third straight league win.
For Kljestan, he is already within one of his total league goal count for all of last season, scoring three times in 35 Pro League appearances. His career high for a season in Belgium is four, which he set in 2011-12.
In between goal-scoring league outings, Kljestan had the chance to play in his father's native land, coming off the bench for the final 21 minutes of the USA's 4-3 triumph at Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo on Wednesday. Kljestan had a hand in the final USA goal, playing a ball forward for a streaking Michael Bradley, who touched it to Jozy Altidore for the finish.
