The young German-American center back made a big impression as newly-promoted Hertha smashed Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 20-year-old German-American center back started, went the full match, and scored a goal as his Hertha Berlin side dominated Eintracht Frankfurt in a 6-1 win.
Hertha was up 1-0 in the 32nd minute when a blocked shot fell to Brooks inside the penalty box. The defender made no mistake, slamming home a shot from 12 yards out with his first touch. Hertha would go on to score four more times in the win, with Adrian Ramos and Sami Allagui each netting braces.
The 6-foot-4 Brooks established himself as a starter last season, as Hertha clinched promotion to the Bundesliga by winning the 2. Bundesliga. He is widely expected to receive his first call-up to the U.S. national team when its roster for an Aug. 14 friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina is released next week.
