In a Q&A session on U.S. Soccer's official Twitter account, Klinsmann addressed the Tottenham midfielder, who has been out for a couple weeks with a calf problem.
"Spoke with Clint. Back in training & hopes to play v Inter. All good for WCQs," the coach tweeted. Tottenham will face Inter Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie.
There was more good news to come regarding Hoffenheim defender Fabian Johnson, who missed his team's match last weekend with a hip injury.
Asked about Johnson, Klinsmann tweeted: "He should be good to join us in Denver."
The U.S. takes on Costa Rica in Denver on March 22, before heading to Mexico City to take on El Tri on March 26.
