“I think the response and the character from the team was great tonight," said the 25-year-old Roma star after the game. "I think we came in at halftime frustrated with ourselves, not so much from the end of the first half, but from the way we started. We talked about wanting to have a good start and putting them under pressure from the beginning. We were too casual from the start and good teams make you pay. Maybe we were a little lucky after the first 15 minutes that it was only 1-0.
"To our credit, we did a good job of responding and finding a way to fight and claw our way back into it and I thought the end of the first half was very good and into the second half. I think we deserved at least a point.”
Bradley also stressed that improvement on the team's first full year under head coach Jurgen Klinsmann would be vital, with 2013 featuring the crucial Hexagonal, the final round of World Cup qualifying in the CONCACAF region.
“We’re moving ourselves forward," he said. "It’s a constant battle for respect and improvement. We’re honest with ourselves and see that a lot of things are going in the right direction, but we’re hard enough on ourselves to know that we have a year-and-a-half left to still take a few things up a notch.”
