The United States has never lost at Crew Stadium and has never lost to Jamaica. It will look to keep both marks intact on Sept. 11.
The U.S. national team will return to Crew Stadium on Sept. 11 to host Jamaica in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.“Playing a World Cup qualifier in Columbus makes perfect sense, from the quality of the venue to the amazing history the U.S. team has at Columbus Crew Stadium,” said U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
The game will be the third in the semifinal round of qualification for the U.S. The team opens on June 8 against Antigua & Barbuda at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla before traveling to Guatemala on June 12. The USA will play each of the three countries twice in the semifinal round of qualifying, with the top two teams in the group advancing to the final round, or hexagonal.
Crew Stadium has hosted six World Cup qualifiers in the past, with the U.S. collecting four wins and two draws in those matches. The stadium has hosted the USA’s home qualifier against Mexico in the final round for the last three consecutive World Cup qualifying cycles, with the United States collecting identical 2-0 scorelines in 2001, 2005 and 2009.

The match against Jamaica is set for 8 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, ESPN3 and the Univision family of networks.
