thumbnail Hello,

It was a gritty and resilient effort by the USA against a sometimes sublime Argentine side.

For long stretches of the first half, Argentina played so well that it was simply remarkable that the team wasn't up by multiple goals.

Yet the gutsy USA team chased every ball and defended well, though the biggest factor in the scoreline was probably goalkeeper Tim Howard.

Howard turned aside multiple shots from Argentina.

Before the half, however, Argentine broke through on a goal by Esteban Cambiasso.

USA coach Bob Bradley made key changes at the half, inserting young players Timothy Chandler and Juan Agudelo.

Then, a magical moment came for the Americans. Landon Donovan served in an excellent free kick, which captain Carlos Bocanegra headed toward goal. After the save popped free, Agudelo tucked the rebound in for his second goal with the national team.

Then it was back to the trenches for the USA to repel the Argentine attack.

Did the USA show enough to encourage fans?

What needs to improve?

Who did well?
