Bradley Calls In 22 For Upcoming Friendly
Bob Bradley has named his squad to face Slovakia, but will consider changes after Saturday's match.
Bob Bradley called in 22 players to train with the team ahead of the U.S.'s match with Slovakia on Saturday, but will consider changes before the team travels to Denmark for the final match of the year.
Among the call ups are a number of U.S. National Team regulars like Clint Dempsey, Carlos Bocanegra, Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore while some fresh faces like Dax McCarty and Jeff Cunningham will also be in camp.
Tim Howard, Landon Donovan and Jose Torres, along with injured players Charlie Davies and Oguchi Onyewu are all absent from the team leaving openings for Bradley to bring in some players who have not seen much time with the first choice side - like defender Jimmy Conrad and forward Eddie Johnson.
Another name that is not on the list is that of Edgar Castillo, the Tigres defender who has yet to make his first appearance for Bradley's side.
The match against Slovakia will take place Saturday at 10 am EST. With the final two matches of the year the U.S. will have played a total of 24 games in 2009, the third highest calender year total in U.S. history. The U.S. is also one of only six team throughout the world to play two fellow World Cup qualifiers on the final international dates of the year.
