USA - Costa Rica: What Went Wrong, What Went Right?
It was a game of odds and ends, tragic misses and desperate effort and when it was all said and done, the sides were level.
The USA pulled out an incredibly late draw versus Costa Rica to finish at the top of the CONCACAF group.
It was an emotional finish for the American squad, who had hoped to honor their injured comrade, Charlie Davies, with a victory.
But a slew of early missed half-chances and some shoddy defending in a five-minute span left the USA with a two-goal hill to climb.
Yet they managed it, spurred on by a vociferous crowd at RFK.
The effort showed some grit, if not finesse.
What, however, stands out as the most egregious of the USA's issues going forward?
What was encouraging to watch in the match?
